Varde Å

• The Association of Anglers in Varde (VSF) has been fishing in the stream since 1926

• One of the best salmon- and sea trout-watercourses in Denmark

• The stream is approximately 100 km long and has an average depth of about 2 meters

• The fishing is with quite some variation due to its many bends and holes

• In connection with the restoration of Varde Å (2010), a free passage to the upper part of the stream for salmon, sea trout and houting was made

• The quota in 2011 is at 130 salmon, but every year more than 600 salmon are caught

Linding Å

• A small stream which flows into Varde Å from the north

• The stream has not been exposed to any straightening, and is flowing strongly with many bends

• In Linding Å it is prohibited to use any natural baits

• It is possible to catch brown trout, grayling, sea trout and salmon (salmon is protected)

Gammel Varde Å

• From 2011 angling is possible in approximately 75 % of Gl. Varde Å from the village of Hodde, upstream of Nørholm Gods (estate) and upstream to the confluence between Ansager Å and Grindsted Å

• After the restoration of Varde Å (2010) a lot of new fishing areas with many bends and fast flowing areas have been made available

• Salmon and sea trout is present in the entire zone

• The zone is rented together with the Association of Anglers in Grindsted (GSF), and fishing in this zone requires membership of either VSF or GSF or a specific day fishing permit for this zone should be bought

Ansager Å

• This beautiful and clean stream offers some of the best fishing for brown trout and grayling in Denmark

• There are bends upon bends in a beautiful nature, where you move about in an almost untouched nature, and your thoughts flow as free as the stream

• East from the village of Ansager, the stream is easily passable, and all kinds of angling is possible, whereas west from the village of Ansager challenges in the form of old oak trees and red alder in the waterline is a part of the exciting fishing

• The stream, along with the tributary Kærbæk Bæk (stream) are expected to be one of the large spawning areas for salmon, sea trout and houting.

Grindsted Å (Mølby-Eg-zone)

• This fishing zone is found upstream from the confluence with Ansager Å and is characterized with its fast flow and its many exiting bends

• This splendid zone is also characterized by very clean and clear water

• Brown trout and grayling can be caught in this zone, and after the restoration of Varde Å in 2010 salmon and sea trout can be caught as well

Holme Å

• An exciting stream where bend upon bend reveals numerous stands

• The stream is very suitable for fly-fishing

• The stream contains a stock of brown trout and grayling, and it is also possible to catch salmon and sea trout

Where to buy day fishing permits

Day fishing permits for all (of) the above mentioned zones (except for Holme Å) can from January 2012 only be bought from the new webshop, which is currently under construction. As soon as the webshop is ready links will be available in this website.
